Preliminary 2017-2018 Winter Forecast

Attached below is the official Free version of our winter forecast.  This forecast is preliminary; we expect a more comprehensive update in the middle of October.  This is part of the forecast that was released on Wednesday to Premium subscribers, which contains a more detailed technical discussion along with month-by-month snowfall estimate breakdowns and discussions.  To give our Premium subscription a try, you can sign up here and begin getting daily forecast updates and frequent updates during major weather events, including school and travel impact forecasts during winter weather.  As we head into the winter season, we also have a Free mailing list set up to provide all of our Free updates during big storms.  You can just look over to the right and put in your email there to get briefer updates (though note that travel impact analysis and school delay/closure percentages are for Premium subscribers!)

September 13 Free Weekend Look

The below forecast is issued once a week on Wednesdays for free, outlining expected weather conditions for the upcoming weekend.  We note that this forecast is slightly lower confidence than the last couple, with risks for a bit more showers than currently forecast on Saturday and/or Sunday.  Additionally, today we released the first look at our Winter Forecast for Premium subscribers.  To see the winter forecast and get daily forecast updates for the weekend and next 15 days, sign up for our Premium service here.

August 30 Free Weekend Look

The below forecast is issued once a week on Wednesdays for free, outlining expected weather conditions for the upcoming weekend.  The forecast features a modest chance of rain on Saturday with a higher chance of rain Saturday night into Sunday as the remnants of Harvey move across the region.  Though the first part of the three-day weekend looks to be rather poor, there is stronger evidence that we clear out through the day on Sunday and that Labor Day Monday ends up being a great day with mostly sunny skies and high temperatures in the low 80s.  Confidence is a bit limited as models are struggling to figure out the exact timing and intensity of showers later Saturday, but confidence is higher that by Monday things will be greatly improving.
