The below forecast is issued once a week on Wednesdays for free, outlining expected weather conditions for the upcoming weekend. Confidence sits above average for this forecast as the weekend looks nice and there are no real threats to the forecast. A very weak storm system to our far north could potentially bring a few flurries/showers on Sunday, but even that appears quite unlikely as instead we should just remain dry and fairly mild through the weekend.
However, this mild and dry period appears very likely to end soon, as all medium and long-range modeling guidance agrees that after December 7th the pattern will become significantly more winrty. Favorable atmospheric orientation for both more sustained cold and winter weather threats appears likely, and as a result we are expecting a very busy December here at SWCT/NY Weather. The below forecast is issued once a week on Wednesdays for free, outlining expected weather conditions for the upcoming weekend. Confidence sits just above average with the forecast, as it is pretty clear, though there is a slight risk of a shower later on Saturday that we cannot rule out just yet. In general, though, the extended holiday weekend looks great, with cold weather tomorrow trending a bit warmer Friday and then decently warmer Saturday. A cold front moves through later on Saturday, resulting in cooler weather on Sunday but mostly sunny skies should continue to dominate.
Overall, the pattern looks to be tranquil, and many of the storm threats we had seen in the medium-term has eased. As we warned Premium subscribers earlier today, we are watching the second week of December for the first period that could have some true winter weather activity across the region. A few small threats are possible before then, too, but true winter weather looks to get going by the second week of December per our latest modeling guidance, so be sure to stay tuned!

The below forecast is issued once a week on Wednesdays for free, outlining expected weather conditions for the upcoming weekend. Confidence sits around average with the forecast, as we are getting increasing clarity with the timing of rain on Saturday. No significant impacts are expected on Saturday as showers should only be light to moderate and quickly die down on Sunday. Breezy conditions are expected but wind gusts should remain below 30-35 mph, so no serious impacts would be expected from that either. There could be some changes with the timing of Saturday showers, but other than that the forecast is fairly clear.
That being said, we are tracking a number of lower confidence weather events further out in time. Sometime late next Wednesday into Thanksgiving/Black Friday there could be a storm threat along the East Coast. Additionally, we could see another threat later that weekend into the following week. It is unclear how much (if any) of a winter weather threat there will be with these systems, but we will be breaking them down for Premium clients over the coming week, so if you’ve been waiting for winter weather threats to arrive to sign back up for Premium you can sign up now right here!
